Hit Drag Competition Series Will Return for a Second Season in 2022
Call Me Mother is the most watched OUTtv Original Series to Date
VANCOUVER, BC – December 14, 2021 – OUTtv, the world’s first LGBTQ+ TV network, has today announced that the OUTtv original drag competition series, Call Me Mother, has been renewed for a second season. This announcement comes on the heels of the finale which saw Toddy from Miss Peppermint’s House of Dulcet named the First Child of Drag and winning the Grand Prize, that included $25,000 cash, an all-inclusive 7-night stay for two at Secrets Vallarta Bay Hotel, Mexico courtesy of Air Canada Vacation, a year’s supply of BPerfect Cosmetics and Wella Hair Products, a single produced and released by PEG Records and the opportunity to be featured in an upcoming Daddy Couture campaign.
Call Me Mother has been the most watched program on OUTtv’s platforms since launching in October 2021 and is the most watched OUTtv original series to date. Hosted by Dallas Dixon, the first season featured drag mothers Miss Peppermint, Crystal and Barbada as they adopted and mentored the next generation of talent into their Drag Houses.
“Call Me Mother showcased diverse drag artistry that has had less mainstream representation until now, the response from audiences has been overwhelming,” said Philip Webb, COO. “We are looking forward to bringing audiences another season of Call Me Mother in 2022.”
Call Me Mother is Executive Produced by Natasha Ryan, Daniel Oron, Glenn Sims and Miss Peppermint. On behalf of OUTtv, Executive Producers are Brad Danks, Philip Webb, Anthony Jiwa and Lauren Whitelaw. Call Me Mother is produced by Go Button Media and OUTtv, in association with RedFlameTV.
